Air Travel

The Myrtle Beach International Airport has experienced unprecedented growth over the past decade and is currently designing not only a new terminal for commercial travel, but has also completed a brand new General Aviation terminal to serve our growing private aviation traveler. Flying in and out of the Myrtle Beach area is quick and effortless with many well-known low-cost carriers including Delta, Continental, Spirit, United and US Airways.

Interstates

Recent years have seen significant improvement to existing highway as well as the addition of new ones, making travel by car easier than ever. Interstate highways 95 and 20 pass through South Carolina in close proximity to the Myrtle Beach area. U.S. Highways 17 and 501, and S.C. highways 9 and 544 provide direct access the Myrtle Beach area. Veterans Highway (S.C. 22) and links U.S. 501 west of Conway to U.S. 17 Bypass (just north of Myrtle Beach). Travelers use these roadways regularly to and from both business and pleasure destinations. We're always working hard to expand roadways for travel to South Carolina's Myrtle Beach area, including rallying around a proposed Interstate 73 corridor that would create more of a direct route for visitors to the Myrtle Beach area from states throughout the upper Midwest and Northeast.

Public Transportation

Coast RTAMyrtle Beach area residents and visitors use a public transportation system under the administration of the Waccamaw Area Regional Transportation Authority. Coast RTA is known for providing residents and visitors of Horry and Georgetown counties with safe, reliable and affordable bus service.
